It depends on which office, but to me, the more granular the locations, the less effort to retrieve, so in most cases, our locations include choices of:
Office
Floor
Room
Cabinet
Row - Unit - Shelf

Subject: Barcodes - Records and Locations
Hello All... a question for all the law firm Record Managers out there. Assuming you are using barcodes to track records and there locations.
To what granularity are barcodes used to indentify locations; the shelf, row of shelves, records rooms etc.?
Regards,
Joe
