The "higher-ups" at my university are interested in conducting a survey
of university records management programs that consider themselves
decentralized or of universities that do not have a university-run
records center but that do have a records management program. They want
to benchmark the "best practices" of universities in our similar
situation.

I know of the ARL Records Management SPEC Kit 305 that came out in
August 2008 but was wondering if anyone knew of any other survey results
or articles that deal specifically with universities with decentralized
RM programs?

If I recall correctly, someone at ARMA suggested that they were planning
to do a survey of universities similar to the ACRL study but with less
of a library focus to it. Anyone know the status of that?

I just want to make sure we're not reinventing the wheel before we start
a benchmarking project.
