In a time of economic uncertainty, having a network of colleagues and friends is an important safety net. I'd like to recommend LinkedIn if you haven't looked at any of the social networking sites on the Internet. LinkedIn has many features, but is designed for adults (sorry FaceBook fans).

I've been a LinkedIn member for several years and found it to be fun (connecting with grade school, high school, and college friends) and beneficial to retain professional connections. You can put in as much information about yourself as you wish and you can restrict access to elements of your profile as you see fit.

LinkedIn can be found at http://www.linkedin.com ARMA International and the ICRM both have Groups that you can join and you'll find many familiar names from the RECMGMT-L on LinkedIn. I think I can speak for most of us Listserve "regulars" and say that you are welcome to connect to any of us.

My profile is at http://www.linkedin.com/in/patrickcunningham

(BTW, this is *not* one of those things where I get any benefit from people signing up.)
