In Texas and other states, anyone found dumping such records would face
a very unhappy Attorney General, and could face prosecution.

While I enjoyed my 5 seconds of fame (even though I did NOT say it was
an identity theft DISASTER), the sad part is the issue which caused the
article. Having records with PII thrown into a grocery store dumpster
by a small (now out of business) company says a lot about lack of
awareness of both the law and the consequences to their former
employees.
