Was just fixing to walk out the door. The first organization I worked
for in RIM was before Email was prevalent. Most had never heard of
email back then, including me. Calendars were paper. I was younger and
my eyesight a lot better.

The org I worked for after that and this current one both use email
packages similar to what you quoted; we currently use groupwise. The
policy applies to the information; like any other record series.
Calendar data is retained electronic; backed up redundant like other
electronic data and documents from the servers. For the few cave
dwellers who do not use email calendars they are still required to
retain their calendar info for the specified period per policy, if they
write anything down. Some use dayminders, etc. The policy requires it.

I am out of here; will be back Tuesday morning.

Best regards, Steve

The example I used was my Daytimer: discoverable, yes. Record, no.
Steve
responded that calendars are records at the organizations he is
familiar
with, and to some extent irrespective of role or level of the
organization.
So of course it depends - I asked for more detail about whether/how
he's
doing it with regards to the calendars and evens in
Exchange/Domino/Groupwise. I know many public sector organizations
that
retain Daytimers of executives; I want to know about the approach as
applied
not theoretically but concretely to their electronic equivalents,
across the
organization.
Hope this clarifies...
