I assume that you mean the only ARCHIVES certification program in North
America. Let us  not forget that the Institute of Certified Records
Management has been around since 1975 and that archives is part of the
testing (Part 4) see this link

In the past few years many archivists (including those who hold the CA
designation) have elected to sit for the CRM exams.
