Thanks for the question Tom! The provisional memberships are for a
provisional association membership. It does not include any chapter
provisional membership. Also, provisional membership has no voting rights
and does not receive Information Management magazine.
Whether or not to consider a provisional member a member for discount
service purposes will be something for each chapter to decide; however,
ARMA International WILL offer discounts to publications and the
International Conference to provisional members.
Industry members may not give provisional membership to their employees.
The intent is for them to use for clients or potential clients who have
never been ARMA members.

With my chapter president's hat on, I like this program. I do have a
question about local membership. Are the provisional memberships,
memberships to ARMA International only or do they include a local chapter
membership? If they are considered a local member, would any portion of
local dues be provided for the local chapter? If they appear at a local
meeting would we consider them a member or non-member of the local chapter
with regard to the cost of the meeting as a discounted monthly luncheon cost
for some chapters is a benefit of local chapter membership.
Finally, can industry members give these out to anyone, for example have
drawings for them at their Expo booth or offer them to companies they may be
working with? Or are these to be used by the company's own employees only?
I'm trying to scope how you see this fitting into the landscape in these
areas.

Member classification! Just so you know, an Industry Member has NO voting
rights. This is stated in the ARMA Bylaws.
