ACA Announces New Web Site

The Academy of Certified Archivists is pleased to announce that its web
presence www.certifiedarchivists.org has been completely updated and
renovated. The new web site retains great informational content, and is
both easier to navigate and provides more functionality for members and
prospective candidates.

Among the myriad improvements are an RSS feed for automatic updates on
ACA events, deadlines, and other activities, a study group forum, which
was much in demand from certification candidates, and links to our new
Facebook and Linked In presences. Legacy information, such as ACA
Newsletters, are archived and available on demand or on-line. Members
and candidates may find business documents such as minutes and reports,
a data base of members, by-laws and leadership contacts. Forms to take
the exam, apply for certification renewal, and many other resources make
the new site informationally rich and a pleasure to use.

The web site was designed by ACA webmaster Jordon Steele, CA, and
Regent for Outreach Todd Gilliom, CA, and took several months to develop
and test. The Academy is eager to serve its members-and candidates for
membership-with a centralized information source, and we invite your
comments on the functionality and ease of use for the new web site.
Please send your comments or suggestions to ACA webmaster Jordon Steele,
CA [log in to unmask] or ACA President Martin Levitt, CA

The Academy of Certified Archivists is an independent, non-profit
organization for certifying professional archivists. Since its creation
in 1989, more than 1000 archivists have qualified for certification by
demonstrating a mastery of a defined body of knowledge and skills for
successful archival practice. Academy members are certified for
five-year period. Renewal depends on continuing professional involvement
and growth. Within the archival profession, the "CA" designation is
a mark of attainment, distinction, and commitment.
