Upon receiving a cost estimate from Iron Mountain to review records at
their facility, they included 2 line items: one, a rebox charge, the other
a box charge for the cardboard container. The charge is outrageous as the
records in question have not been accessed since IM acquired them in 2004
(aside from 110 boxes which we reviewed preliminarily earlier this year).
IM expects to charge us to replace 300 boxes. In all likelihood, the
records will be destroyed after the review is completed.
There's also a third charge for transportation. This is strange to say the
least since the records will not be transported. We are only reviewing
records already stored in their Freehold NJ facility so there's nothing to
be transported.
