Job Responsibilities 

Establishes the College's archives. Identifies, preserves and catalogues
historical documents, memorabilia and other items in any media that
document the College's history and significant milestones and makes them
available as needed. Assists the Director as a records analyst for hard
copy paper storage box creation, storage, retrieval, maintenance and
final disposition in the on-site records center. 

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

Identifies historical records and other materials of archival value. 

Appraises and preserves historical records and other materials as
identified and creates an accession record. 

Develops, maintains and keeps current a database documenting the items
in the College archives. 

Conducts records analysis of archival records and College business
records as back up for the Director. 

Handles routine communications (e-mails phone calls, other written
correspondence) related to the archives and other records matters. 

Provides routine reports on progress to the Director, Records
Management. 

As backup for the Director, may be required to oversee the work of
temporary and part-time employees for special/on-going projects such as
the records center storage area cleanup. 

Develops policies on College archival presentation and archives access. 

Provides additional recordkeeping assistance as the need arises or as
assigned. 

Promotes the use of the archives to College employees and the community.


Performs other related duties as assigned   

Required Qualifications 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Master's degree 

Minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated experience in cataloging,
indexing and preservation of archival materials 

Knowledge of archival principles and practices 

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook 

Attention to detail 

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills 

Valid Ohio Driver's license 

Ability to meet the College's insurability requirements to drive own
vehicle on College business 

Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse
population   

Preferred Qualifications 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Certified Archivist (CA) certification 

Familiarity with ILS or cataloging programs 

Knowledge of analysis of records and records management principles 

Familiarity with records retention schedules and citations   

Work Schedule 

8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday   

Target Hiring Rate/Salary 

$46K - $62K Annualized   

Position Status 

This is a full-time, professional level, exempt, salary grade 12
position.   

Special Note 

SPECIAL NOTE: 

Must be able to work standing and sitting at a table to process the
records boxes and archival items. Must be able to occasionally lift up
to 50 pounds unassisted.
