A question that comes to mind is whether the employee provided devices are
on a university system?

Subject: [RM] text messages
Hi all:
A couple of questions relating to text messages:
Has anyone who works in the public arena had to deal with requests through
their public records laws or FOIA for text messages?
Does anyone have a policy or guidelines for the management and use of text
messages, both on employee provided devices and/or personal devices? We
have a "Use of University Equipment" policy and a policy on who/when people
get cell phones, but the first one is pretty vague and the other only
addresses fiscal issues.
Thanks,
Susan
