The Chicago office of our IT Department is looking for a Director of Records Management to add to its team.  We offer a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package. Summary:  
The Firmwide Director of Records Management role is intended to function effectively at both the strategic and tactical level. This individual is responsible for collaborating with senior management in identifying objectives, defining processes, and ensuring compliance with a state of the art records and information management approach.  At a tactical level, this person is responsible for implementing this vision by driving the achievement of Firm approved milestones and demonstrating improvements to the records and information management program to senior management and partners at least annually. The records and information management framework will include hard copy as well as electronic based records on a global basis.

The Director must envision an improved records management program and be able to prioritize competing initiatives and understand the interdependencies of initiatives. As a program manager, the Director will motivate people, build consensus and ultimately achieve timely results.  To achieve these objectives, the Director will serve in several capacities: (a) records management content expert/advocate, (b) strategist, leader, change agent, communicator, facilitator, (c) problem-solver and troubleshooter, (d) company role model, ambassador, and liaison, and (e) program/project manager. 

Education and/or Experience:  
Required:
Certified Records Manager (CRM)

Undergraduate Degree 10 years work experience with 2-4 years in designing, building, and implementing business solutions preferably in the legal profession.  

At least one successful experience managing a complicated interdepartmental program involving a number of projects and staff on a global scale. 

Meticulous attention to detail, well-organized, ability to meet deadlines and to prioritize. 

Five to ten or more years experience leading a records management program preferred. 

Preferred:
Experience in information technology strongly preferred. 

Consulting experience with a top project management or strategic planning firm preferred. 

Legal background preferred.
