Hi Brad - I have provided new hire orientation programs and used
the methods noted below to get information to new hires. The companies I
have worked have not required training on the RIM Policy & Procedures as a
condition of employment, but it is usually a very good idea
to provide training as part of a RM awareness campaign or an annual Records
Review process.

1) Monthly emails are sent to new hires (from the previous month) informing
them of the RM program resources and directing them to take the companies
online training. If you do this within soon enough after the new
hires start, they interpret it as a requirement and usually will take the
initiative to complete it.

2) Welcome package sent to new hires with a letter describing the RM program
and RM office resources along with the Company RIM information brochure and
a small promotional item (pen or magnet). This packet is sent out by the RIM
department not HR.

3) Get on the HR new hire orientation schedule for 5-10 minutes to provide a
brief overview and RM handouts.

4) Provide periodic live "new hire training" sessions (quarterly,
semi-annually, or annually) to cover more details and answer specific
questions.

Good Luck.
