**** APOLOGIES for CROSS-POSTING ***

Northumbria University is pleased to announce that it has conferred Len
Asprey with the title of Visiting Professor of Enterprise in the School
of Computing, Engineering and Information Sciences. Len Asprey is the
Director of Practical Information Management Solutions based in Sydney,
Australia.

In this honorary capacity, Len will support the University's teaching
programmes in information, records and communication management, drawing
on his extensive consulting and project management experience in
information and knowledge management. Len consults with a wide range of
clients in both the commercial and government sectors primarily in
document and records management, document imaging and workflow, business
process re- engineering, knowledge sharing and knowledge management.

The University is working with Len to develop a number of programs to
support innovation in information, document and records management. The
first of these programs is scheduled for spring 2010 and will target
strategies for improving the management of drawings and associated
technical documents during the major design and development activity
that is expected during the build up for the London Olympics in 2012.

Commenting on the appointment Julie McLeod, Professor in Records
Management in the School of Computing, Engineering and Information
Sciences said "We are delighted that Len Asprey has accepted the
invitation to be a Visiting Professor. He brings a wealth of current
practical experience and expertise in document and information
management. Developing a training programme focusing on technical
drawings and documents fits very well with the School's subject domain
and will support initiatives to create synergies between the Information
Sciences and Engineering groups. Len's expertise complements that of our
other Visiting Professor, Philip Jones, Staffordshire County Council."
