I have a Twitter account set up as private. It does not go out to the world.
I don't want followers. I wanted it for a specific purpose with a certain
group of students. Of course, that limits the features I can use. But it
works for me for right now.

yes they are both public, but aren't tweets posted to the worldwide
internets?

the problem is that folks are adopting new technologies willy-nilly without
thinking of the consequences - intended or unintended.
