Well, I never! Hit a straw man when he down? I just wouldn't do it.
Oh wait I misread that.

As I Digest reader I did not see your great post before I wrote mine
at the end of the work day.

Time is the enemy of the doctor and the patient. You are right, the
doctors handwriting is terrible but if you were forced to write faster
and faster, you would lose neatness. The bureaucracy of HMO's and
Insurance providers robbed doctors of time. Time with patients, time
with family to explain things, is lost and a new layer of government
in the mix will make it worse.

In the Stimulus Bill, not one legislator claimed to read the entire
thing. I bet they will not do as good a job reading what they are
voting on than this Listserve will do reading your post. (Which was
excellent.) Nothing is ever repealed. No tax is ever canceled. No
bad program is ever done away with.

My son just took the Boards. It was a nine hour test. He spent
thousands of hours studying the material but our Congress couldn't be
bothered to read a bill that spent a Trillion dollars. And as they
head towards health care, we should all demand that they at least know
what they are doing before they sign it.
