Wow. I understand why the city would consider this, but the risks are
enormous. What happens if/when Google is acquired and/or the security
protections change? What about if Google goes out of business?
Remember when our last president thought the entire assets of the Social
Security system should be handed over to the commercial investment
community?
This type of approach is appealing, and I'm sure the salespeople want it
to happen (think of the commissions!), but what if the company fails?
