Has anyone used shelving for small spaces - say a copier room - for
boxed records that they can recommend given that the rolling units may
be too big for what space we have available to store their boxes?

Agreed! These mobile systems are not lite & when loaded down get even
heavier. But, they move with great ease using the wheel / handle on the
ends.

Also check that your floor is level. They can account for small
variations in the plain, if you get them from a reliable vendor.

Mobile shelves are a great and efficient way to store hard copy. Just
need
to make sure the floor have accommodate the load.
