The volume of fraud, hack/extortion and direct records theft has been
rising at alarming rates over the past 8 years again. The level of
sophistication criminals are putting to work is amazing. Recently, a
hospital in Colorado was hit by a man who appears to be a professional
ID Thief. His method?

He befriended a woman who worked in the hospital records department and
"talked her into" delivering to him roughly 10 patient files per week.
When they caught him, they found he'd done background checks (criminal
and credit) on all of his victims so that he would be safe from using
the ID of someone with an arrest record or poor credit rating.

Virginia had its prescription drug database hacked with a $10M ransom
demand. In Kentucky, someone used the equivalent of a virus to get
people to think they had work from home jobs. Then they hacked a county
website, got into their banking and ordered payments to these "at home
employees" who were directed to keep their commission cut and forward
the rest of the money to an overseas account.

Diligence is the only recourse and, even then, there's always the
possibility.

because of my frequent trips to customer sites I use a UPS store for all
my
mail. don't have to worry about mail stolen from my street box. package
deliveries are easy too.

but if you don't want to go that route just search google using
mailbox+locking
