Some Tuesday afternoon reading FYI.

The subject line comes from the title of the article. If you read the entire
thing you'll see that US CIO Vivek Kundra announced today the availability
of Apps.gov, which makes cloud-based applications, including but not limited
to Google Apps, available to federal agencies. There has already been
significant feedback across the government blogosphere and pushed through
Twitter about the lack of security or engineering apps, etc. I haven't seen
a lot of discussion of the compliance and RM aspects of it - yet - but I
expect to see that in the coming days as people actually investigate what
Apps.gov provides and where it is lacking.
