With the impending Listserv Party at the conference, I thought Earl was looking for evidence to use against people attending the party this year... <grin>

I think many of us would also call this sort of thing the 500 pound gorilla in the room, or the alligator on the table.

I actually noted this sort of thing in my blog (shameless plug) a couple of weeks ago http://cunninghamabovetherim.blogspot.com/2009/09/atr-records-management-as-science.html  The reality is that many of us spend lots and lots of time debating record series and retention periods while we continue to ignore things like, oh, email (witness the prior discussion today). As I note, the debates that rage on are the records management equivalent of debating about whether or not Pluto is a major planet or a minor planet.
