Today is the very last day to register <http://tinyurl.com/slamd-electrifying> for an "Electrifying" evening with Special Libraries Association President Gloria Zamora on Oct. 22 at the National Electronics Museum (a two-minute taxi ride from the Amtrak BWI rail station): Don't miss out on this Mid-Atlantic event for all librarians and information professionals hosted by the Maryland SLA Chapter. Highlights include:

· A guided tours of a dozen museum exhibits focusing on the entire electronics industry, ranging from telegraph to sonar, radar, satellites, a lunar TV camera and a working amateur ham radio station ... oh, and there's a research library, too!

· A "buffet" opportunity to connect and network with other librarians and information professionals in the Mid-Atlantic region as you nibble fruits, cheeses, hot hors d'oeuvres, and enjoy cash bar refreshments.

· SLA President Gloria Zamora, an international leader in librarianship, who'll share SLA Alignment Project <http://www.sla.org/content/SLA/alignment/portal/index.html> highlights and latest updates, including the proposed name change, as the SLA positions itself for an exciting second century in a diverse and ever-evolving information landscape.

· Insights into an empowering toolkit of alignment research and resources to help us communicate our value and skills to employers, patrons, clients, and stakeholders, whether we identify ourselves as academic, public, or special librarians, information officers, "content gurus," or go by any of the other 2000 job titles that define information professionals!

· A chance to greenly recycle your electronic clutter: Bring your old smaller electronic devices such as laptops, cell phones, digital cameras, etc. to this event! Proceeds from recycling raise funds for the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Registration <http://tinyurl.com/slamd-electrifying> closes tonight, Oct. 19 at 11:59 PM. Come interact with an energizing leader and marvel at electronic wonders... Prepare to be recharged!
