Larry I read your articles and it seems that this is already at the
unstoppable position. Like a 16 year old that doesn't want to know how
to signal or where the emergency brake it, they just want to drive the
car.

Like a lot of things this administration is doing, they pass laws
legislators do not have the time to read. They are implementing EHR
with no workable platform. They should lock IBM, Microsoft, Google
and six other big players in a room and like a jury trial tell them
they can't come out until they have a communication system that
interfaces across all their companies. Make them fund a central
entity to make sure everything communicates. Make those who sell the
system insure it so they don't create medical liability for innocent
victims. Tort reform would be nice too.

They should also mandate that all systems need to be American made and
insured. At least help our own economy. And if something goes wrong,
you can sue them right here not have them disappear back into some
third world country. As you said, the IRS and the FBI have
embarrassed themselves jumping into systems without research. No
trials just whole hog immersion in a fragile system.

Nothing is ever incremental today. The people in this group can see up
close what folly this EHR will be. Doctors and hospitals are scared to
death about such a fast conversion with no standards, no answering of
questions like you discuss in the articles.

Obviously the computer and software companies who will benefit from
this can't move fast enough. But those who grab funding will be
crushed later on as whatever they buy now will be obsolete in 24
months. Migration is unachievable.

If this has to be one and it is already law, then they should create a
Manhattan project where the big boys develop a plan that all can
supply. Where liability for deaths are part of the game for them. The
fact that contracts already punish whistleblowers is amazing.

Great articles. As usual your references are impeccable.
