You mention that RM "does not encompass non-records."  Does you program's 
mission or charge include the management of non-records?  If yes, I would 
look to expand the scope of the name.  If not, using only RM helps to limit 
the scope of your responsibilities and obligations.

Just another consideration since that was left open by your original 
message.

I am currently in the process of developing a "name" for our records 
management program.  I am wondering what most companies are using to name 
their records management program. We are currently hesitant to use Records 
Management, because the name doesn't encompass non-records.

Records and information Management
Information Management
Information Lifecycle Management
