Hello all,

On the question of knowing when and where peer-reviewed articles are published, I'm rather cheekily taking a leaf out of Peter's book and posting a link!

Most (though not all) of the various publications under discussion have RSS feeds; I've made my Google Reader folder for records-related feeds public so you can see it here:
http://www.google.com/reader/shared/user%2F04952050652901451865%2Flabel%2FJournals%20-%20RIM

It's a pity that the theory vs. practice' opposition is still in evidence to a degree; as has been pointed out most eloquently by several contributors to this discussion, the two aspects are complementary rather than separate. And there is no nice clean divide between academics and practitioners, either: some people move between the two areas; there are many 'working' RIM professionals who keep up with and contribute to theoretical development. It is also noticeable that some of the best 'how to' practice-oriented articles, whether in peer-reviewed or non-peer-reviewed journals, are informed by pre-existing 'heavyweight' research, as is evident from citations and references.

Regards,

Rachel
