Nishika--
I suggest as a first step to take a tour of their facility, inspect their
trucks for security, ask about hiring procedures (background checks) and
operational procedures, and so on. You can also check the NAID website to
see if they've been certified.

Nishika,
My thoughts are that if the company takes them before destruction, you
have no long have control over them, and therefore don't know for sure
what they actually have been destroyed. They could sit on an open loading
dock for any amount of time; they could be riffled through by unknown
persons; they could end up anywhere. The feds are more and more concerned
about identity theft, so if there is personnel info, such as SS#s, you are
taking a big risk.

Subject: Secure destruction of Confidential Information
Hello,
We have been approached by a company that is offering to take our
confidential documents and destroy it via a pulping process for a very
low cost (They get to keep the pulp at the end of the process).
Currently we use a shredding company to come onsite and do all our
shredding.
Are there any other organizations/ companies that are destroying their
confidential docs this way? If yes any thoughts/ concerns that I need to
keep in mind?
Regards
Nishika Gupta
