Join Us In 2011 As SLAIS Celebrates 50 Years

The University of British Columbia's renowned School of Library,
Archival & Information Studies marks its 50th anniversary in 2011,
and we're letting you know now so you can save the date. Mark your
calendars for April 29-30, 2011.

We have already begun planning a number of activities designed to
encourage all to celebrate from wherever they may be. These include
an open house at SLAIS, giving alumni and friends a chance to meet
our current faculty and students, learn about the research being done
at SLAIS, and to visit our stunning new facilities in the
state-of-the-art Irving K. Barber Learning Centre. There is also a
grand dinner and dance, with guests of honour including a number of
honoured SLAIS alumni.

For those who are unable to join us in Vancouver, the SLAIS Alumni
Association is planning a Virtual Memory Wall where alumni can
reconnect with friends and post memories and photos. The Alumni
Association is also planning a fundraising silent auction, so
consider donating an item for the auction.

Mark the dates in your calendars, and plan to join us as we celebrate
our decades of achievement. Watch for more details at
<http://www.slais.ubc.ca>www.slais.ubc.ca and
<http://www.slaisalumni.org>www.slaisalumni.org, and please share
this with your local associations to ensure all SLAIS Alumni are able
to join in.
