Earl,

Our regional historical society, www.pghhistory.org had a service
wherein it would come in and do oral history interviews with current
former staff, and then put together a bound history of the company (for
a fee, of course). Perhaps your local historical society may want to
partner with you in your effort on a publication and/or exhibit of
artifacts and archives.

Subject: My company's 50th anniversary is coming up soon, and I'm
wondering....

what kinds of things have you done to celebrate this kind of milestone?
We were founded in 1962 and like any other company at that age, we've
gone through many ups and downs. I'm curious as to whether anyone in
Listserv land has helped to plan this kind of thing for your company,
and if so, what did you do? How was it received? What would you do
differently if you could do it over again? How long did it take to
plan? Did you use a third party to help plan anything?

The good news is that while records management is already on the map
here at Colonial, planning a really nice exhibit/celebration for 2012
that is meaningful, respectful, informative, entertaining, memorable,
and well received would be a good thing. If such an event were
spear-headed by, say... RM, then that would be even better as it would
show that the Company's investment in RM was worthwhile (yes, I do want
to toot the RM horn-at least a little)!

Even if you haven't done this kind of thing before with your company,
any thoughts as to what you might do if given the opportunity? As
usual, any and all responses are appreciated, and feel free to respond
off-list if you like.

Thanks.
Earl
