Hello Information Community,

We are extremely pleased to announce No. 3 of the second volume of the
Faculty of Information Quarterly:
Vol 2, No 3 (2010): Information Access: Commons, Controls, Controversy
Conference Proceedings <https://fiq.ischool.utoronto.ca>

The aim of the journal is to promote conversation within the world of
Information practice and study, including researchers, students and
professionals in the field. What is information, where is, how does it
effect us, what is its potential?

We strongly believe that an intellectual space is needed for the Information
community to analyse and critically assess the divergent topics that
comprise our field of study and practice, and are committed to redefining
many of the traditional understandings of the study of information.

This volume is comprised of proceedings from the second annual iSchool
student conference at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Information.
The Information Access: Commons, Controls, Controversy (IA3C) Conference
focused on issues of Information access and featured the work of students
from Toronto, Montreal, and New York.

We trust you will enjoy – and be engaged by – the content of this volume and
trust you will view F/IQ as a place to revisit and to contribute to. If you
are interested in submitting for future volumes or if you have any questions
regarding the publication, don't hesitate to email us at
