This position is responsible for managing the Records and Information
Management Program (RIM) within BCBSMA. The Records and Information Manager
is responsible for setting goals and strategic direction for managing the
Corporation's records and information. This position leads organization-wide
records retention and destruction efforts. The job ensures adherence to
legal requirements which affect storage and destruction of BCBSMA records.
The position requires leading the Records and Information Management
Advisory Committee, who support and provide input for implementation of the
program goals and initiatives for the company. The Records and Information
Manager acts as consultant to all areas within the company on matters that
involve corporate records storage,destruction and information management.
The position provides training to the business area's records coordinators
whose responsibility is to communicate RIM policies and guidelines to their
respective departments and to manage storage of their departmental records.
This position is also responsible to stay apprised of government regulations
and communicate the findings to leaders within BCBSMA. The position has the
responsibility to initiate retrieval of records that are utilized in legal
matters and litigation.
