The idea behind NARA's Electronic Records Archive (ERA) is to develop
a "repository" which will store all electronic records that are
considered archival in nature. The ERA would have the capability of
storing all types of electronic documents from all federal agencies.
As most of us who have been in this business for any length of time
know, the challenges are enormous, given the continuous changes in
technology and "standard" formats.
