For hikers - I recommend hiking in Marin -the popular Dipsea trail, or Matt
Davis trail. I like to start and end at Stinson Beach but parking gets tight
after 10-11am or so (after 9am on weekends). For a less ambitious walk the
flat path along Marina beach to Fort Point under Golden Gate bridge
is pleasant. Fort Point is cool but only open on weekends. For the Marina,
lots of parking in the lot beside and at the actual Marina where the boats
are.

For runners -for flats the Marina path, for hills the headlands down to
ocean beach is nice (start at the golf course at 34th/Clement st/Legion of
Honor, run west to Cliff House basically, taking as many staircases down as
you feel like exploring, continue along the beach to Golden Gate park).

For wine country explorers - I prefer Sonoma to Napa (Napa is really more
about high end restaurants than wine tasting these days). I love the olive
oils and the olive oil tasting room at Jacuzzi winery.

For restaurants in San Francisco - There are so many and they are almost all
good (except in the tourist trap areas Union Square and Fishermans Wharf). I
love *Globe* (Pacific & Battery st), very hip. *Boulevard *is the default
excellent and famous upscale spot. *Spruce* (Sacramento & Spruce) is worth
the drive to Pacific Heights (upscale). In the Marina on Chestnut street I
like *Dragonwell* (Chinese, cheap) and *Ernestos *(small, noisy, cheap). *Cha
cha cha* on the Haight (at Stanyan) or in the Mission is great (loud, fun,
cheap). *Osha Thai* has many locations but I like the Cow Hollow location
for the late hours, decor and location in the heart of Cow Hollow Union st.
Check yelp.com

For shoppers -Union square and Westfield mall (the mall is downhill from
Powell st/Union square on Market St). For outlets, take Hwy 80 east to
Vacaville, one hour, to the Premium outlets.
