I think a direct approach is best. After adding the known (from
Conflicts and possibly your ethics partner, risk management partner, or
committees charged with that task) "sensitive" matters to your wall
list, on the approval of your risk management partner or committee, I'd
contact the partners directly and ask them, "Other than the confirmed
list attached, do you have any matters which should have the matter
documents and other information restricted within the records system so
that that they are accessible only to the work group involved". This
notice should go to all partners, not just the litigation group.
However, I find it really odd that you don't know this information
already. How, as the Records Manager, have you been able to restrict
access to "sensitive" records, if you don't already know what is
considered sensitive?

Subject: [RM] RMS roll out - preparations re: Chinese walls

Dear All:

We are preparing a roll out of our RMS to users. One important task
prior to this is setting up Chinese walls.

I'd like to hear your suggestions as to how I should go about figuring
out which clients' records should be segregated. Outside of information
Conflicts would have, I expect some people might consider certain other
clients' records (especially emails) more "sensitive". I would like to
find these out before roll out and not after when I'd hear about them
being at the forefront of the "explosion."

Thanks ahead of time!
