Lets look at it this way. instead of an email. you take a physical letter,
digitize it, shred the paper, and store the image on your shared drive. now
your organization receives a subpoena requesting all correspondence from and
to Janice Hulme. you don't have the physical letter but you have an image of
it. Is it still a letter? you betcha, format (film, digital, paper) doesn't
matter it is the content.
