Julie hit on an excellent point about moving the email records to a system
that has excellent search/find capabilities. There are a lot of people who
rely on email records for prior business information, sometimes going back a
few years. They are loath to go to a system where this is made more
difficult.

Anyone out there who knows about an email records system that has worked
well? Of course one that also automatically deletes old emails on some kind
of fixed schedule.

E-Records

Had the record copy holder retained that budget document per policy in an
electronic system...; even if just a classified file share; there would have
been no problem. Also not retaining "voluminous" quantities of emails.
Email should not be used as a record system.
