Pretty LAME if they didn't have executed Non-Disclosure Agreements,
Intellectual Property Rights Agreements and other documents in place that
all employees were required to sign to avoid this from happening, or at
least that provided them legal recourse if something DID happen.

Also the idea that information this sensitive was kept in "large notebooks"
left in an employee's direct possession seems a bit naive (?)
