Hi Susan,

The University of Michigan is in the middle of a transition to GoogleApps
and we're working out the policy framework to support it.  The University
had identified the kinds of regulated sensitive information that it manages
and has created a standard to say where they can be managed.  Here's a link

includes other kinds of university systems as well).

We're very much still  in the middle of this process, and have not yet
settled on specific retention and disposal procedures so please let us all
know what you discover.
