May be it is too late and you know it already.
What is your relations with all this records and their owners?
Do you have contract with your clients and what does it say - may be you, I mean company, is not responsible at all to keep all these boxes after you provide client with work / information according to conditions of contract?
How to check - do you have contract with Records storage provider - who can ask to come and to pick boxes up - may be Records Storage provider keeps all these delivery slips and you can restore in reverse who is the owner of these boxes and after, remind senders about corporate Records Management Policy.
If you will able to find delivery slips and followed after invoices, you can narrow the search and amount of boxes you keeps outside.
