I ran into the same situation at my firm. The SAP concerned Payroll records. We simply made the retention schedule reflect the realities of the application. Unless consideration is given to compliance issues like retention, prior to the selection of SAP, these issues will continue to drive retention rules. It is the only way I know to be compliant with our own policies.
