Hi Don (& everyone),
As an untrained (i.e., non-records manager) but very interested party, I'd
be curious to know what recommendations Adam and his team have for creating
better and more effective policies for new kinds of records - wikis,
corporate blogs, tweets, etc.

Also - the new "Shredded Storage" feature sounds like it will remedy one of
the most common pitfalls of migrating/implementing SharePoint: Moving
everything over without seeing if you really need it (for operational or
compliance reasons). It seems like most folks default to bringing everything
over. Will 2013 prompt you to find and eliminate duplicates or records past
their retention period? Or will you still be required to do the heavy
lifting of setting policy and then auditing on your own?

For what it's worth, we recently collaborated on a survey with IDC that
asked IT professionals about the role records management played in their
SharePoint 2010 migrations and implementations.

It was hit or miss as to what is being done (both to prepare for, and
during, the implementation process), but it was pretty clear that both
planning for stronger and more comprehensive policies and involvement from
records managers was a better road to success. The questions about planning
for social content and retention/disposition were pretty revealing as well...

Thanks!
