Hello fellow Listers:

My name is Carole Shealy and I am a new (and dazed) Records Coordinator for a small interstate gas transmission pipeline. I am also the Records "manager", the data coordinator, the records department and records training department. I was chosen for this opportunity because of my ability to recite the alphabet and because I have a pulse. : - ). This is a lighthearted way to illustrate what I'm sure many Records people have experienced; being thrown into this position with no training or previous knowledge of Record Keeping practices. Not only am I fighting a learning curve to know and understand gas pipeline operations but also RIM, GARP, etc.

I am sharing this for two reasons: First, I would very much appreciate meeting anyone else out there working in the gas pipeline industry, willing to help and share information and processes. Second, I hope that knowing this will explain my sure to follow elementary questions.

I look forward to interacting and sharing and learning.

Carole Shealy, Records Coordinator
