Microfilm has a longer life than digital, but, with everyone wanting electronic format, the film you have has to be scanned because no one makes or services microfilm reader printers. I wonder how long it will be before we will see a digital format that we can honestly and safely say is a permanent storage medium. If you have never looked at the old deed records of a county, you should. They are beautiful examples our history. Even the handwriting is amazing to see. What can I say, I'm getting old.
