Aloha Glen,
There are many of us pondering the same questions you have, as the path towards retirement looms on the horizon...
What I try to do are the following:
- Keep abreast of the industry
- Keep abreast of technology and new innovations & the potential impact on Records Management aka Information Governance
- Know enough to be dangerous...(i.e. be able to understand the IT acronyms & jargon enough to question or challenge their initiatives or directives)
- Make sure I'm training someone to maintain what I've established
- Continue to push the envelope on various records management initiatives
- Continue make sure management is aware of the challenges we face and what needs to get done
And lastly...
- Head for my beach chair and enjoy my mai-tai every Friday as the water laps at my feet. :-)
Have a wonderful weekend folks...You deserve it!!
Mahalo,
Brian

Bill, some good points and direction you are taking. Shed, however depending on the company they could certainly feel shredded.
