The DePaul University Library is seeking a Digital Archivist to work collaboratively across the Library and University to expand the Library's capacity to responsibly acquire, manage, preserve and disseminate born-digital archival materials.  The Digital Archivist will lead efforts to plan and document processes for ingesting born-digital materials governed by the University Records Retention Schedule, as well as those materials donated by individual and community organizations.  As a member of the Special Collections and Archives Department, the Digital Archivist will develop and coordinate workflow across Library units, including Digital Projects, Web Services, and Metadata and Content Management.  The successful candidate will have a Master's degree from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent, as well as two years of professional library experience, and demonstrated knowledge of specifications for digital repository systems and related technologies, including auditing/checksum software, write blockers, file format identification, file migration, and media conversion.  Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required in this position.

The Digital Archivist will join four professional  full-time colleagues, three part-time staff, and students, volunteers and interns committed to preserving and providing access to the unique resources held by DePaul's Special Collections and Archives.
