Ok, so some of us have to dredge a bit deep into the memory for this, I worked with a DSTN system (hybrid electro/mechanical "computer") for data communications around 1968, followed by the IBM 360/20 mainframe and then the Univac DCT 9000,  I still recall the horrible experience of dropping the main programming card deck and trying to put the 200-300 punch cards back in sequence. I ended up with the task of re-punching the deck as the several "backup" decks all seemed to be incomplete (different card counts on each!).
