DIGITAL STORAGE: Losing our visual heritage - Letters to the Editor - New Straits Times I am an archivist in charge of several million photographs and films. I would much rather have an actual photograph than a digital one any day. The quote from Alexander Stille that this era "will have lost more information than any previous era" is right on the mark. As a visual archivist, I can tell you that we will have very little of our visual heritage left. Not only is the digital file not permanent but there are even more issues that will play into this loss. http://bit.ly/1ahwsq4 Source: http://www.nst.com.my/opinion/letters-to-the-editor/digital-storage-losing-our-visual-heritage-1.465485 See if people are clicking on this link: http://bit.ly/1ahwsq4+ Try the bitly.com sidebar to see who is talking about a page on the web: http://bitly.com/pages/sidebar -- Peter Kurilecz CRM CA IGP [log in to unmask] Dallas, Texas Save our in-boxes! http://emailcharter.org http://twitter.com/RAINbyte http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/RAINbyte/ http://paper.li/RAINbyte/rainbyte http://pinterest.com/pakurilecz/archives/ http://pinterest.com/pakurilecz/records-management/ http://www.linkedin.com/in/peterakurilecz Information not relevant for my reply has been deleted to reduce the electronic footprint and to save the sanity of digest subscribers List archives at http://lists.ufl.edu/archives/recmgmt-l.html Contact [log in to unmask] for assistance To unsubscribe from this list, click the below link.
