DIGITAL STORAGE: Losing our visual heritage - Letters to the Editor - New
Straits Times

I am an archivist in charge of several million photographs and films. I
would much rather have an actual photograph than a digital one any day. The
quote from Alexander Stille that this era "will have lost more information
than any previous era" is right on the mark.

As a visual archivist, I can tell you that we will have very little of our
visual heritage left. Not only is the digital file not permanent but there
are even more issues that will play into this loss.
