Hello Listserv,
The time of year is upon us again when NARA through the SHRABs (State
Historical Records Advisory Board) gives qualifying candidates to grant
applicants. The deadlines are in August and December of 2014 depending on
which grant you apply for.
Qualifying applicants may receive up to $250,000 in cooped funding for
multi-year projects. Of real interest to the RIM/IG community is that
projects now include automating items to a/an ECM-ED/RMS', which means that
an organization can utilize their information system beyond just digitizing
archives depending on which system they implement.
I am on the CHRAB (California Historical Records Advisory Board) and am
happy to help answer questions for anyone in California. Feel free to
contact me directly. However, anyone in any of the States that has some
amazing archives/records that are of national significance and would like to
have them digitized for the world to see should apply to their State's
C/SHRAB for consideration.
The link to the NARA grants are located here:
http://www.archives.gov/nhprc/announcement/. I've posted the full NARA
listing below.
Good luck to everyone and please, please, please apply for these funds. All
my best -ilona
