Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to join the Record Management Listserv. I am Assistant Director
of The Islamic Manuscript Association, a decade-old organisation dedicated
to the protection of Islamic manuscript collections and supporting those who
work with them. We promote excellence in scholarship on Islamic manuscripts;
award grants to support the care, cataloguing and presentation of Islamic
manuscript collections; and articulate standards and guidelines for best
practice in cataloguing, conservation, digitisation and academic publishing.
One of our latest projects is the International Treasury of Islamic
Manuscripts (ITIM), which will provide a free online catalogue hosting
service in Arabic and English for Islamic manuscript collections. If anyone
has any questions, Iąd be delighted to hear from you.
