The Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania will decide whether it was lawful
for Gov. Tom Wolf <http://search.pennlive.com/Tom+Wolf/>to fire Erik
Arneson
<http://www.pennlive.com/politics/index.ssf/2015/01/arneson.html#incart_river>from
his executive director position at the Office of Open Records.

A lawsuit
<http://www.pennlive.com/politics/index.ssf/2015/01/lawsuit_to_challenge_wolfs_fir.html#incart_river>
was
filed Monday afternoon by Arneson and the Republican Senate Majority Caucus
against Wolf, the Department of Community and Economic Development and the
Office of Open Records.

The lawsuit seeks an immediate injunction to restore Arneson to the
position he was fired from on Thursday. It also aims to settle the question
of whether a governor can remove an executive director of the Office of
Open Records after being appointed to a six-year term.

"The problems of our economy have occurred not as an outgrowth of
laissez-faire, unbridled competition.
They have occurred under the guidance of federal agencies, and under the
umbrella of federal regulations."
Senator Ted Kennedy, in defending trucking deregulation in 1978.
