It's anything you want it to be...Hors d'oeuvre is the mainland term, but we (in the islands) take it to a higher level.   Also known as "finger foods", our "pupus" are practically a meal-plus. (e.g. poke, sushi, Hawaiian dishes, wings, etc.)  With your island connection, I'm sure you've been exposed. :-)

I'll have a lot of those fruits...err...maitais on SB Sunday...After church, of course. :-)
